About the Programme
West Wits Mining is proud to launch a Learnership Programme as part of its Social & Labour Plan. This initiative supports the start-up of the Qala Shallows Project, South Africa’s first new underground gold mine in over 15 years.
Our mission is to empower the next generation of South African miners by creating opportunities for local youth to gain:
- Practical experience in the mining industry
- Theoretical knowledge to strengthen career growth
- Skills that support future employment within the Witwatersrand Basin
This is more than just a training opportunity — it’s a chance to actively shape the future of gold mining in South Africa while growing your career.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must:
- Be youth from the local community
- Have completed Matric / Grade 12
- Submit an updated CV
- Provide a certified copy of their Matric Certificate
- Submit a verification letter from their Ward Councillor
